The Sun is Setting on these Retiring Items!

Have you ordered items on your wishlist that are retiring from the current Annual and Occasions Catalogues? If not, get in quick before the sun goes down on these items and they are no longer available, as they are only available while stocks last! Many items are already discontinued and unavailable!!

Don’t wait to order.
You only have through 31st May to get your favourites.
Many of the retiring products have discounts of up to 50%!

Some things to note:

  • When a bundle is listed as retiring, but the individual stamp set and/or framelits are not, ONLY the bundle (and special discounted price) is retiring. The individual items will be in the next catalogue, but not bundled. So get your bundle now while you can still save 10%!
  • Some items are being reconfigured, that is why they are listed as retiring, such as rhinestones, pearls, die brush, albums etc.
  • The new catalogue will be available online 1 June. If you want to receive your own personal hardcopy then order $50 or more with me before 31 May and I will send you a FREE copy! Order ASAP to ensure you are on my mailing list!

If you have any questions about the Retirement List or Stampin' Up!, please feel free to email me at maecollins2@gmail.com and I'll be more than happy to help.

OnStage 2017 - Better Together!

I realised I have shared the excitement of OnStage in Sydney (8 April) via my Facebook business page but have not shared some of my experiences here, so I am about to remedy that!

On Friday, 7 April I flew from Hobart to Sydney to attend OnStage which was a fun time shared with like-mined demonstrators, where we got to see new products, training and of course receive our copy of the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue! It was a great time swapping and catching up with friends near and far across Australia. Some attended an event in Perth, while others of us went to Sydney.

I got to attend my FIRST Centre Stage dinner which is a leadership-level, fancy sit-down dinner where we get spoilt and receive additional training. For attending we received a special gift of a beautiful Stampin' Up! apron and new stamp set as well as being the first to receive the NEW catalogue! The dinner was absolutely delicious and I got to sit at a table with some SU! friends from Hobart Sharon Walsh and Julie Leeper, my lovely friend Di Barnes (from Sydney), the beautiful Anna from Demo Support and I also got to meet some new friends too.

The next day was an early start, but we were so excited to meet all our other demo friends who came from the many states of Australia, including a few more from Tasmania. One of the things I like about these events is making new friends and the swapping of course! You can see the swaps I made for OnStage on my earlier post here. Here are a few of the swaps I received in exchange for mine!

The day that followed was full of product news and sample demonstrations, business tips and recognition...I even got to walk across the stage for title recognition as well as my 10 year anniversary with Stampin' Up!. We also got to sample creating with new products for our make and takes...which I stamped but did not assemble at the event...as I was too busy chatting with others! [I realise I have still not put them together, must remedy that before the weekend's classes, because I will put them on display]

It was great to see the new 2017-2019 In Color range - Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, Berry Burst and Powder Pink (listed as pictured below)  - and to see samples made with these new colours as well as product samples of some of the new stamp sets, dies and accessories etc. So many ideas, so much inspiration... I can't wait to receive my preorder so I can start playing... although I could start inking up the FIVE new stamp sets I took home from OnStage!

As the event description states "OnStage...Better Together!" and it is true, it is better when you can go together, and I would love you to come to the next OnStage with me as one of my team!

Some of the many benefits of being a part of Stampin' Up! is not only going to these events and having fun, but you get to meet lots of like-minded people, as well as getting a great discount on your crafting supplies, seeing new products and catalogues before anyone else, customising your Starter Kit with products you want and free shipping on the kit. The kit is only $169 and you get to choose $235 worth of products (new ones from the pre-order products if you join in May!) and there is no obligation to do classes or workshops. Join my team today and we will be Better Together!

NEW to stamping or papercrafting? Start here!

Are you a new to stamping, Stampin' Up! or papercrafting?

Everyone has to start somewhere and I am here to help you get started, because it can be quite overwhelming when you browse through our catalogue, to know what to order or where to start!!

Aside from Stamps, Ink and Paper, what else do you need to get started? I've compiled a list of what I think are the basics you need when you first start stamping.
  1. A good paper trimmer. Now, these come in ALL different configurations and prices, but the new Stampin' Trimmer is a fantastic and good quality personal cutter. I love how it has a right-side for cutting thin strips and comes with both a cutting and scoring blade.
  2. A good regular adhesive. I highly recommend SNAIL tape runners, which is a double-sided, permanent adhesive. It applies a controlled amount of adhesive directly to your project, so your hands and work area never get sticky.. This is the adhesive for when you are sticking cardstock to cardstock or paper to paper. For bigger stuff like attaching ribbon or button embellishments, I use Mini Glue Dots or our brand new Fine-Tip Glue Pen. However, SNAIL is a great basic.
  3. A good way to add dimension. Stampin' Up's Dimensionals I believe are simply the best on the market. Made of super-soft foam, they add texture and dimension to your projects without being too thick (you can of course mount one on top of the other to add extra dimension where needed). This makes posting your beautiful cards easier without having too much bulk.
  4. A good pair of scissors like the Paper Snips can be used not only for your paper and cardstock but also for ribbon, for detail cutting, for sticky things, etc. They have thin, precision-ground stainless steel tips which cut to end of the blade and include safety covers for the blades.
  5. A good way to measure things and protect your table surface is what our 11" x 17" (28 x 43 cm) Grid Paper does! It has built-in rulers not only along the top, bottom and sides but also a grid for sketching, a note pad and wish list along the side... nothing will make you feel more professional as you measure ribbon and cut cardstock like a champ. After all this time I only recently realised it has metric on one side and imperial measurements on the other! LOL!!
  6. A good way to properly crease folds. Many new crafters make the rookie mistake of thinking that good-quality cardstock can just be folded in half will-nilly. It soon becomes obvious that anything more than a single sheet of copy paper can really benefit from being folded with the precise, even pressure of a Bone Folder. Other companies make them from plastic and they are either two rigid or too flimsy to do the job properly. I don't know why the "bone" part makes a difference, but it really does. Don't mess with a classic!

So there you go---six inexpensive, must-have tools to get you started. Are you missing any of these highly-recommended items? Let's get you fixed up so you can have the tools you need to have a successful, enjoyable papercrafting experience.
