Christmas in July continues!

Continuing on with my Christmas in July theme I managed to find time at the weekend to make two more Christmas cards, which use the upcoming new Carols of Christmas stamp set and coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies.

For an early Christmas present you could receive FREE the Carols of Christmas stamp set in your Starter Kit by joining Stampin' Up! in could even add the coordinating dies as part of your products selected in your kit!

I love the benefit of being a demo and getting products early and at a great discount!

The card above I used some our Silver Foil Sheets to create a moonlight shadow and sparkle to the night scene. Some extra rhinestone bling too!

It is great how our Stitched Framelits match the greetings so well and using the circle shape gives this card an added moon feel to it, don't you think?

Christmas in July!

My theme for this month is of course 'Christmas in July' and I recently made a collection of Christmas cards getting ready for an upcoming Stamp-a-Stack with some beautiful customers and friends.

I have had the lovely Santa's Sleigh Thinlits for a while now but have yet played with them and I had fun! The sleigh is beautiful and can left plain or decorated in so many ways, with tone on tone cardstock, DSP or any of our brilliant glimmer papers!

Did you notice the bottom section of the panel? To create this look of snow on the ground I simply tore off a piece of my embossed panel, flipped it over, and stuck it back on the card front. I need to crop a little off for it to fit on my card front anyway, so this is what came to mind. I like the simple effect don't you?

My second card I thought I just had to add Rudolf, don't you just love his little red nose (Real Red Enamel Shape p 196 AC), and of course who could forget Santa! Santa was made using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set (p 116 AC) and the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (p 208 AC).

My third card was a simple design giving focus to our beautiful Be Merry Designer Series Paper (I LOVE DSP!!) and using the coordinating Garden Green cardstock to frame the paper and greeting. A little star shape enamel and voila the card was made! As I mentioned in an earlier blog post cutting a 12" x 12" DSP sheet in half and then thirds, so you cut six 4" x 6" panels, you have a piece wide enough for a card front, but that needs trimming slightly in length to create your front panel... the offcut piece use inside your card for a decoration strip which flows the pattern through.

For those who can't make their Christmas cards yet... just flip this piece of DSP over, add a different greeting, and voila you have a completely different card... in my case a birthday card!

So as you can see this DSP although it is in the Holiday section of our Annual Catalogue and has a strong Christmas flavour you can use it for other styles of cards too! Which makes it a good investment. I like it when one product can be used in a multitude of ways and styles.

Don't forget you can have celebrate Christmas in July too by simply joining my team this month and getting EXTRA BONUS ITEMS with your Starter Kit, ALL FOR ONLY $169!! I would love to share the benefits of being a demo with you and it is simple as 1, 2, 3!

Traditional and Pocket Pages

With our Memories & More range you can create traditional 12x12 layouts as we have packs of 12x12 Page Protectors as well as the 12x12 Variety Photo Pocket Pages to capture your memories with this method and using our Memories & More Card Packs.

I like how the Bundle of Love Memories & More Card Pack is double-sided with Blushing Bride (pink) colour way on one side and Soft Sky (blue) on the other. So whether you are after a boy or girl theme this set will suit you for either!

I used this pack to create firstly a traditional 12x12 layout of my grandson Theo's first birthday, that they celebrated with a cake smash photo shoot! Theo was more interested in eating the blueberries than the rest of the cake.

I was so pleased that the cards in the pack coordinated so well with the colours in my photos and I wanted to make one photo a feature, which tells it's own story of which birthday it is.

The 'love this' wording so reflected my feelings of seeing him celebrate his first birthday and I tied it in with a Basic Black 'Happy Birthday' cut out using our thinlits die.

I had my basic layout put together and then put a call out to my Facebook friends and fellow Stampin' Up! scrapbookers on how to tie it all together, their suggestions were invaluable and helped me pull the page together.

I stamped some tone on tone with Sahara Sand ink stamping some grunge images (Swirly Bird stamp set) from the top left and tying it in with a little in the bottom right. I grounded the photo and cards together by drawing a black line with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker between the elements.

A final touch was adhering some blue metallic stars down the left hand side to tie in with the stars from the cake.

My opposite page I created using the Pocket Pages and a variety of photos plus, some matching cards. I have decided as to what I want to journal or say about these photos yet, so there is room for that later.

Here is an image of them side by side as they will sit in my album.

What style of scrapbooking or memory keeping fits you?
